Outbound marketing on LinkedIn differs from inbound marketing. Inbound includes â€Å"making noise in a good way,† like publishing articles and participating actively in groups. In contrast, outbound marketing on LinkedIn entails understanding your target market and what types of people or companies you want to approach, and then creating a campaign to reach them. Dafna focused on B2B strategies, but many of her tips apply to job seekers as well. Regardless of your business or career situation, LinkedIn is an extremely strong tool for creating an initial connection – and you can use it to forge ongoing connections as well. As Dafna pointed out, while not everyone will connect, and not everyone who does will continue the conversation, either way you’re creating awareness. You’re starting a conversation- and that has value. Dafna’s Top Tips on How to Succeed with Your Outbound Marketing on LinkedIn Identify and research your target market. Who are they? If they are investors, what type of investor? If they are CTOs, what type of companies do they work for? Once you know who they are, find out what projects they’ve been involved with in the past. Read their profiles and find out who you know in common, including any mutual connections you have at their company. Personalize and customize your connection requests. Tips on how to do that are in my book, How to Write a KILLER LinkedIn Profile. How you approach a person depends on the audience. You’d write a different message to a client than you would to a potential investor or partner. With anyone, the initial contact should be short and sweet. Don’t overwhelm with detail. And to state the obvious, create and maintain a database and ensure it’s accurate and up-to-date. You’re only as good as your leads. Connect with your colleagues throughout your career. You never know when you will benefit from those connections! Also don’t be shy about asking for and providing introductions – and recommendations. Move the conversation from LinkedIn to the phone or even a video call. Whenever you talk to someone in a business context, call from a quiet place – professionalism is more important than calling back fast when there is noise around (this one I learned the hard way). Always smile – it changes the tone of your voice. And be prepared for small talk. Check the weather, sports, events wherever your client is. Those details truly make a difference. Look professional. If you’re calling from home in your pajamas, put on a scarf so no one knows you just got out of bed! My favorite trick is putting on a suit jacket over my yoga clothes. Be on the lookout for how you can meet someone’s needs. Even if someone calls to sell you something, you never know when you might turn that into business for you! Use trade shows and conferences as an opportunity to connect with your LinkedIn network. If you’re attending something, post on LinkedIn saying â€Å"I’ll be in Paris for the xx event, and would like to meet xx people†¦Ã¢â‚¬Å" Also join any specific LinkedIn groups that might exist for the trade show or conference. Optimize your profile and your company page. Your leads will check them! How to Write a KILLER LinkedIn Profile will teach you how to do that. Remember that optimizing your LinkedIn profile requires ongoing activity – publishing articles, posting to groups, and sharing updates and photos about your professional activities. Use hashtags to tag people and companies in images so that they are more likely to read your posts. And if you have a company page, use it! Share recommendations you receive from clients, as well as posting open positions in your company. While all of this might seem overwhelming, it’s essential that you set aside time every day to check your profile and work on lead generation. In other words, one clear reason why the depicted interpersonal conflict was not handled effectively is due to the lack of focus to emphasize a good point of view for better communication, which has to be a two-way process between the receiver and the speaker. The movie film did not quite deal much of this point, leaving the entire situation between John and Deborah hanging until the end. On the other hand, the movie film handles too many interpersonal conflicts in it, as it depicts varying walks of life. One reason why there was poor handling of the interpersonal conflict between John and Deborah is the point that there are also other conflicts that need to be addressed or resolved apart from theirs. Their interpersonal conflict is common to take place among couples, but the entire movie has its point of view not only on their family, but the entire perspective of the movie film comes from Cristina, who herself have specific struggles to handle with her mother, a single Hispanic parent, Flor. This is the reason why it has become a great priority in the movie film to end it up with a meaningful resolution on the part of Cristina’s family, leaving it hanging to resolve the conflict between John and Deborah. This is a specific reason why at some point it was not that effective how the movie film handles the interpersonal conflict between John and Deborah. On the other hand, the movie film reveals that it is re-enacted based on Cristina’s essay application for scholarship in a prestigious academic institution. This makes the entire story to have a strong bias on her point of view, resulting to effective resolution on the case of her own family, and leaving the entire situation hanging for Clasky’s couple. The interpersonal conflict between John and Deborah could have been handled effectively if somewhere in the essay application of Cristina, there should have been significant information concerning the progress of Clasky’s couple. Problem Statement The problem is that identity theft is destroying the financial security and freedom of countless individuals world wide. As honest, hardworking people have their identities stolen, they are subject to a loss of credit, difficulty in terms of employment, and encounters problems of various sorts with law authorities. Such victims must prove that their identity was stolen, often causing a great deal of anguish in the process. Local and national governments are currently taking measures to prevent identity theft, but the problem seems to be growing. There are five major types of identity theft being practiced today: 1) Criminal identity theft, 2) Financial identity theft, 3) Identity cloning, 4) Medical identity theft, and 5) Child identity theft. This proposed research study will examine each of these areas to help the reader understand the warning signs and avoid becoming a victim of such types of identity theft. In short, identity cloning involves one person taking on (stealing) the identity of another for the express purpose of hiding their own identity for one reason or the other. This is a bit different than other forms of identity theft, as financial information is not typically involved, causing the stolen identity to often go undetected for a long time (Anderson, Durbin, & Salinger, 2008, p. 1 71) . Criminal identity theft involves one person committing a criminal act, getting arrested, and then telling law enforcement officials that they are a different person (Harrison, 2007, p. 84). Conversely, synthetic identity theft refers to identities that are almost entirely made up. Most commonly this occurs by using a real social security number, but a different name or date of birth to make it more difficult to track (Ciechanowicz, 2010, p. 41). Medical identity theft involves one person seeking out medical care, not in their name, but in the name of another person. There are many reason why an individual might perpetrate this type of crime, including a lack of insurance on the part of the person (Agrawal & Budetti, 2012, p. 459). Finally, child identity theft involves just what its name implies. The criminal here commonly steals the social security number of a child, and then opens line of credit and commits other unlawful behavior using the stolen identity. This crime is par ticularly difficult to detect because children typically do not realize their identity has been stolen until well into adulthood (Dwan, 2004, p. 16). Relevance and Significance As demonstrated to this point, identity theft is a serious issue that must be tackled. It affects nearly everyone in society, either directly or indirectly.
